An intro to Melaney Arruda:
I used to write a lot.
And now I don't. When I used to write a lot, I would do it in notebooks or on scraps of paper. Not surprisingly, many of those thoughts and bits of poetry have been lost to me forever. Some of the pieces I have written are trapped inside my now dead laptop, saved on a hard drive that I haven't had the motivation to revive.
In essence, those few things spurred the creation of this blog. I would like to write more. I would like to have a place to keep the things I write so I can look at them again some day, should the urge strike me. Though, in all honestly, I will likely forget the URL to this site and still be unable to retrieve the works I am writing now. Such is life.
Also, if someone discovers this blog and I become a rich, famous, tortured poet, that would be nice. The tortured part wouldn't be so nice, but if it was a part of the package, then I would probably take it. Definitely I would take it, actually. So anyway, there is my sorry excuse for an intro. Read some of this stuff. Or don't. Totally up to you.
But if you do read it and like it, it'd be a cool thing to let me know. If, on the other hand, you find it be awful and you hate every stanza and line, I guess it would be OK if you let me know that, too. Or you know, you could just keep it to yourself. Again, totally up to you. (But actually just keep it to yourself.)
The link to get to my poems and junk is up top, where it says poems and junk.
xoxo Melaney Arruda
